Can I claim from my health fund?

Quick answer: Yes, if you have extras cover. You pay us, then claim your rebate back from your fund using your receipt.

We do not offer HICAPS or on the spot claiming in clinic. That is part of how we keep our fees where they are, but it does not mean you cannot use your health fund benefits with us. Simply download your receipt from your Dental 99 profile to use in your claim.

How to do it

• Open your Dental 99 account in the app or on the web and go to your appointment history
• Download the itemised receipt for your visit
• Submit it to your health fund, usually through their own app or website
• Your fund pays the rebate directly to you

Your receipt is in your account the moment your appointment is complete, itemised with the item numbers your fund needs. You are not waiting on us to prepare anything or to lodge it for you, which means you can claim on your own timeline rather than ours.

How much you get back

That depends entirely on your fund and your level of cover, so we cannot tell you the amount. You may wish to check this with your healthcare provider before booking.

Because our fees are lower than most, the gap you are left with is often smaller than you would expect, allowing your health fund allowance to stretch even further.
