# Does Dental 99 use oral health therapists or dentists?

Both. Our teams include oral health therapists (OHTs) and dentists, and who you see depends on what you are booking in for.

For a checkup and clean you will most likely see an oral health therapist. Preventive care is the area they are trained and focused on, so it is what they do every day. OHTs are registered with the Dental Board of Australia, the same as dentists.

For more complex treatment, we have dentists you can book in with. If your OHT finds something at your checkup that needs a dentist, they will let you know and help you arrange it.
