# Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
**Quick answer:** Yes, of course. Bring whoever helps you feel comfortable.
Partners, parents, friends and carers are all welcome, and there is no need to tell us in advance. If you are nervous, bringing someone is one of the simplest things that helps.
Treatment rooms are cosy, so one support person is the sweet spot. That way they can be right beside you rather than out in the waiting area, and your clinician has the space they need to work safely. If you are bringing more people along on the day, they are very welcome to wait for you in reception.
For children, a parent or guardian should be present throughout.
**Note:** If your support person will be speaking on your behalf, or you need an interpreter, mention it in your appointment notes so the clinician knows.
